What is the SCP foundation?

The Foundation is a fictional web-based organization in which anyone can write their own SCPs. It started with SCP-173, which appeared for first time in a creepypasta(internet horror story) posted in a website called 4-chan. Since then, thousands of more SCPs have been added, which can be used by anyone to add to their horror stories.
What does S.C.P. stand for?
SCP stands for Secure, Contain, Protect. This refers to the way the organization handles anomalies by; securing the entity, containing it and protecting everything that could be affected.
Inside the organization
The SCP Foundation, also called plainly the Foundation, refers to a secret gobernmental organization, which serves one sole purpose: Containing all anomalous, dangerous and supernatural entities or artifacts, which are commonly known as SCPs.
